Team PASH India

France's capital is not only home to haute couture, masterpieces of art, architecture and temples of fine dining but also cozy bistros, vibrant ethnic enclaves and bohemian cafes. One of the most visited destinations in the world, PARIS is a lively cosmopolitan but an undeniable French city.

Paris has everything for everyone. Whether you visit Paris on a day trip, in spring, for a week or for far longer, Paris is a city that has it all! Museums, theatres, shops, fantastic historic monuments and a beautiful riverscape. To discover the real Paris, one must spend at least a day strolling off the beaten path. Paris is the best European country that offers excellent facilities for golf in world-class surroundings. Immaculately kept fairways allow players to enjoy refreshing views of the greens and enjoy teeing off in this beautiful capital of France

Located on the outskirts of Paris, on the land surrounding the Palace of Versailles, once the home of Louis XIV, Le Golf National course was unveiled in 1990. The course is a public, target-style golf course that is regularly ranked among the top
five in Continental Europe. Playing host to the Ryder Cup in Europe since Walton Heath, Surrey, in 1981 and Royal Lytham in 1977, the course is a perfect risk-reward venue for the Ryder Cup match-play drama.

Le Golf National is now the permanent home of the French Open, played since 1906 and the oldest event on the European Tour held outside the UK and Ireland.

It is made up of well trimmed, slick greens and vast undulating fairways dotted with innumerable links bunkers, sand traps, large and small water hazards, fescue roughs, tree obstacles and the rigid slopes of its artificially-created sand mounds.

The course offers an excellent test of a golfers' versatility, his correct choice of clubs and his shot-making capabilities and provides a unique experience of links-target golf.

Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a city steeped in culture, art and philosophy. With plays, art exhibitions and film fests running all through the year, the people of this city love intellectual debates on anything from cricket to avant-garde movies. It is the nerve centre of trade (via land and water) in eastern India, and a significant contributor to the world of art, literature and cinema, both in and out of India. Kolkata has enough opportunities to inspire the young golf aficionados. The rolling greens of a traditional club and a bunch of retired corporate bigwigs catching up on life over a round of golf: that, for years, was the picture that would come to mind when talking about golf in Kolkata. However Kolkata is emerging as a city that has enough opportunities for golfers.

Royal Calcutta Golf Club is the oldest and most prestigious golf club in world outside Great Britain. Affectionately known as Royal, the club lives up to it’s name, as royal as the very game of golf. In 1911, King George V and Queen Mary honored the

club and conferred on it the title of ‘Royal’ to commemorate their visit to Calcutta.

Royal is essentially a golf club that maintains the character even while affording facilities for other sports like tennis, etc. Today Royal is considered to have one of the finest golf courses anywhere in Asia. Dotted with the famous ponds, the course has seen tremendous improvement over the last few years with incessant redesigning and upgradation. The 72 par course is both inviting and a challenge. Greens at Royal are small by modern standards, but undulations make them tricky, and there is a little nap. From the tee the course looks deceptively easy, but its strength lies in its par fours, and to score requires good long and medium irons. The most significant are the two large tanks across the tenth fairway, the 457 yards par-4 jinx hole.

  Golf Humor

During my physical, my doctor asked me about my daily activity level,

so I described a typical day this way:

"Well, yesterday afternoon, I waded along the edge of a lake, drank eight beers, escaped from wild dogs in the heavy brush, marched up and down several rocky hills, stood in a patch of poison ivy, crawled out of quicksand, jumped away from an aggressive rattlesnake and took four "leaks" behind big trees."

Inspired by the story, the doctor said, "You must be one hell of an outdoors man!"

"No," I replied, "I'm just a very bad golfer."

  Golf Tip
  Part I: Before You Swing
Lesson #2: The Short Thumb

Proper grip pressure is one of golf's most elusive fundamentals - and it's as difficult to describe as it is to achieve. One method that has helped me set the proper pressure in my left hand is the 'short-thumb' technique.

Take your usual grip on the club, with your left thumb extended straight down the shaft. Now, slide the thumb upward, about a centimetre. Notice the effect this has on the tightness of the hold in the last two fingers of your hand. This is exactly where you want a firm, secure grip.

This is one key that I check all the time. If you occasionally experience a looseness in your swing - or the inaccuracy it causes - I recommend that you too experiment with the short thumb.

Thank you very much for your welcome in Delhi, we appreciate all your team that we met during our stay in India. This was a great opportunity for us to visit Rajasthan and Delhi in good conditions, well accompanied by three professional (and French speaking) guides, the local managers of LPTI, and a good and secure driver !

I do not forget the quality of the 4 golf-courses that we played, it was a pleasure ..

And bravo for the 5* hotels you choose for us during the trip.

Our best wishes for the new year
