Team PASH India

One of the cultural centres of Europe, Spain, has gained much popularity in the last few years. Widely known for bullfights, flamenco dances, tapas and tranquil beaches, Spain is exceptionally diverse! Every region is unique in its individual charm and appeal. Some of the regions frequented by tourists include Madrid, Barcelona, Palma, Seville and Marbella for Golf aficionados.

A city in the southern coast of Spain, Marbella, is most commonly known as one of Spain’s top luxury getaways. Surrounded by the hills of Sierra Blanca, Marbella is a refreshing contrast to most of its neighbours. Marbella formerly was just a small Andalucian fishing village, which has now turned into one of the most exciting places for the rich and famous however this once sleepy Andalucian town has managed to retain its old world charm.

Situated along the Mediterranean coast, Marbella is one of Costa del Sol's major tourist centres. Serene beaches with balmy weather to chic bars, cafés and restaurants, the liberating Marbella is electrifying throughout the year. Not only that, Marbella offers beautiful boulevards, parks, gardens as well as some romantic lanes in the best Moorish or Andalucian tradition. The historic part of the town, set on a beautiful bay, shelters lovely corners in a typical Andalucian flavour. Orange trees adorning the streets alongside whitewashed houses make for an ideal setting to sample the tasty recipes of the local cuisine. Food and wine are the regional obsessions of Marbella and is much admired for its luxury lifestyle.

Housing a dozen magnificent courses with world-class facilities, Marbella is also progressing as a well-established Golf destination. The city offers a spectacular backdrop of sea and mountains for a fascinating Golf experience.
Club de Golf Valderrama is located in Andalucia, approximately forty minutes from Marbella. The course was designed in 1974 by one of the great golf course architects Robert Trent Jones, Sr. originally known as 'Sotogrande New'; the name of the course was
changed to ‘Las Aves’ in 1981. The course was later redesigned and expanded by the original architect and it finally came to be known as "Valderrama."

It is one of the best-known golf clubs in Europe with a single 18-hole course along with a 9-hole par 3 course. Rated as the top course of Europe by Golf World magazine and elected three times in the same category by prominent journalists, Valderrama Golf Club is one of the most valuable pieces of Andalucian golf. The club’s practice ground was affirmed the best in Europe by the world-renowned Golf analyst, Nick Faldo. The course's signature hole, La Cascada, is an aesthetically outstanding par 5 with a pond to the right of a two-tiered manicured green.

Host to innumerable professional events like the 1997 Ryder Cup Matches, 2000 World Golf Championships and the Volvo Masters, the Valderrama Golf Club is considered as the jewel of Europe and the region’s most prestigious club.

Streets drawn with mathematical precision, framing almost one hundred bunkers and elevated greens, Valderrama is a strategic and tight parkland course. Carpet like fairways and aprons smooth as glass, the course is a sheer delight for golfers.
As the name suggests, Goa spells release. Drawing 2 million visitors annually, Goa is the most comfortable and preferred getaway for tourists around the globe. With sparkling waters, soothing serenity of beaches and balmy shores, Goa is laid back and languid. But then, there is more to Goa than just beaches and sea. A former Portuguese colony, Goa has stunning scenic beauty and architectural splendours that offer a glimpse into its colonial past. Located along India’s west coast, the city tempts with its refined palate for seafood. Goan food is mouth-watering and delicious which marks another reason for being popular among tourists. As relaxed as it can get, Goa is also a place for adventure seekers. From water sports to thrilling air borne rides, Goa is constantly ticking with excitement.

Goa also offers the best gaming in India. With 12 bustling casinos and a throbbing nightlife, Goa is a regular haunt among all age groups. Feeling the lazy wet sand under your feet to the pulsating music blaring into your ears, tantalizing your taste buds with exotic seafood to picking your brains at a nerve wrecking gambling session, Goa offers a seamlessly blended all-in-one experience. With all this and more, Goa also offers some exquisite Golf courses for a great game of Golf. Golf amongst all this excitement is, without a doubt, a cherry on the top!

Located along the western coast of India at the Rajbaga Beach in Goa, The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort is a luxurious five star resort built on 85 acres of land. The hotel offers a breath-taking view with a kilometre stretch of an exclusive beachfront outlined by

the Arabian Sea. It is also the largest property in Goa in terms of area as well as the number of suites it has to offer.

The Portuguese style architecture reflects the cultural heritage of Goa and its rich colonial past, intimately intertwined. Nestled amidst formally landscaped gardens, a golf course and a multitude of hotel facilities, the magnificence of this two-storeyed sprawling structure is incomparable. Ranging from modern meeting rooms to trendy bar and dining avenues, from beach activities to a holistic spa and from water activities to sports facilities, the hotel offers an all in one experience. The hotel also comprises six dining outlets with live open kitchens providing all popular cuisines.

The “Goa Golf Greens” is the largest and the only golf course in Goa of international standard. It is laid along the rolling white sands of the Raj baga beach with a majestic backdrop of French designed 255 rooms. Designed by Col KD Bagga, a great disciple of Alister MacKenie the master golf designer, this golf course is a masterpiece of gentle meandering features with unobtrusive mounds. This 9-hole double T golf course is a golfers’ paradise with fairways flowing along the Arabian Sea and four of the greens opening a panorama of breath-taking blue waters and white sand of Rajbaga, Canacona beach.

This international standard golf club plays host to all kinds of golf game and golf tournament year-round. The Goa Golf Greens provides an unparalleled, first quality golf experience for seasoned golfers as well as enthusiastic novice.

New Delhi: With Golf returning to Olympics at the 2016 Rio Games, the Indian Golf Union (IGU) has released its development vision for the next seven years -- Tee20 -- to take golf in the country to the next level.

"Our aim is to help the game grow in the country and we need to get more and more people into the plan," said IGU president-elect Raian F Irani.

"We want golf to reach small towns and schools, from where we hope to produce another Jeev (Milkha Singh) or Arjun (Atwal). Through this new vision, we hope to take golf to another golden era," he added.

Architect of the plan, Ishwar Achanta, also a council member of IGU, said: "We will approach products of IGU like Jeev and Arjun, the iconic figures of Indian golf, to be part of the initiative. They will act as catalysts to help us grow the game across the country."

IGU`s vision Tee20 has three keystones: growth, sustain and excel.

Firstly, to provide opportunity to all and sundry to play golf, secondly to increase the number of golfers by providing them quality experience and finally to create a system by which Indian players can realise their potential and perform at the optimum level of their capabilities.

A bugdet of around 50 crore will be spent in the seven-year-programme and IGU also informed that they are in touch with the sports ministry and Sports Authority Of India.

"We have written to the government, who further had been in touch with various state government in regard to get land for public golf courses.

"Many states have queried about our plans. We are expecting a positive response very soon."

Besides, the governing body is also working to come up with zonal academies across the country.

Golf Humor
A very bad golfer is playing at new course and he is having a very bad day.

He is on the 18th hole, and he see's a lake.

He says to his caddy "I think I'm going to go drown myself in that lake".

The caddy says "I don't think you can, you can't keep your head down that long"

Golf Tip
Before You Swing; One Spot for Every Shot – By Greg Norman
When it comes to the fundamentals, consistency is paramount. If you can repeat the same positions, moves, and methods over and over, you'll simplify your technique and ingrain the correct habits.

That's one of the reasons why I maintain one ball position for all shots. Then, to make the setup comfortable and the stance stable, I move my right foot closer to my left as the loft of the club increases. I realize that many instructors advocate that you move the ball progressively back in the stance as your club shortens. But when you do that, you're changing the loft on the clubs - if you play the 6-iron a bit farther back than the 5-iron, then you are delofting that 6-iron so that it's effectively a short 5-iron. You're also changing the point at which your swing makes contact with the ball. I have enough trouble maintaining one impact point - I don't want to have to deal with a dozen of them.

Unless I'm trying to play a special shot of some sort, I position the ball at a point just back of my left heel. Your own position may be a bit farther forward or back, but I encourage you to determine exactly where it is, and then stick with it for every club in your bag.

I would like to send you a short but very heartily Thank You! for your kind hospitality.

I must say that Pash India did a great job with a super service.

This famtrip was really among the highlights of my life!.
