It is you, our guests and clients who inspire us to bring the best of the golfing facilities of the world to your doorstep. It has always been our attempt to promote the best that the world and India has to offer. In the present issue of our newsletter, we invite our guests to plan a visit to India’s world heritage site- Kaziranga.

Kaziranga is one of India’s most famous national parks. Spread over 858 sq km in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam, it is home to two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses. With easy accessibility through air, road and rail, our guests are recommended to hone their golfing skills on a massive 150 acre, 18-hole golf-course at Kaziranga Golf Resort.

We invite our readers to experience a unique golfing opportunity in China’s Haikou islands. Situated in the Hainan province, Haikou is the capital and most populous city of Hainan province, China. It is situated on the northern coast of Hainan, by the mouth of the Nandu river.

Haikou is also developing its MICE industry. In 2012, the local government set up the Haikou Convention and Exhibition Bureau and pledged RMB35 million (USD 5.6 million) to support the development of the MICE industry. International hotel chains like the Shangri La, Sheraton and Westin have also set up hotels in the city.

ON THE SPOTLIGHT
Haikou, known as the 'Coconut City', is the capital of the Chinese Hainan province. It is also referred to China’s answer to Hawaii. With the sea on three sides, the city enjoys beautiful sunshine, crystal clear water and soft sand along its long coastline.

Today, Haikou has evolved from a simple sightseeing city to an attractive business centre and a huge golf destination. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy state-of-the-art golf courses with superb culinary and grand historical sites to explore. Additionally, Haikou has a very active nightlife that continues until dawn every day of the year.

Haikou also has a number of important sites of historical interest. The Temple of Five Lords, the Tomb of Hai Rui and the Xiuying Emplacement each serve as reminders of the historical importance of the city. The city is also famous for its prized dishes that include wenchang chicken, dongshan mutton, jiaji duck and hele crab.

Mission Hills Resort - Haikou is a new and interesting destination for holiday goers, golf buffs as well as those seeking entertainment and wellness experience. The Haikou courses offer limitless and unforgettable experiences to golfers. It has earned the reputation of being a
destination for some serious playing for golfers and celebrities alike. It gets visitors from across the world.

The piece de resistance in Haikou is the Blackstone Course, a spectacular 350 acre core golf course that entwines through a striking landscape of trees, thick jungle vegetation, and expansive lakes and wetlands. Among other options is The Vintage course, which is designed after the classic courses built at the turn of the century.

At the Vintage course on one hand, there is a distinct natural feel to the layout with holes carefully placed on existing terrain leaving the heavily sylvan site as unscathed as possible. The third popular course here is called The Sandbelt Trails, which is an exceptionally strong course. It features large bunkers dominated by high sand flashes and crisp, thick lips that rise above fairway and green surfaces that are reminiscent of the courses such as Royal Melbourne, Kingston Heath, and the Metropolitan Club.
A World Heritage Site with two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses inhabiting the park, Kaziranga is undoubtedly one of India’s most famous national parks. It is spread over a massive 858 sq km and situated in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts in the state of Assam. The park's prized possessions, rhinos, are usually found grazing with deer and buffaloes.

The Park also boasts of highest density of tigers and is home to more than 60 per cent of India's wild buffalo population. Eastern swamp deer and seven species of turtles and tortoises are exclusive to this wild life sanctuary. At Kaziranga, one can also easily sight large Indian civet, hog deer, gaur, Assamese macaque, sloth bear and have reported rare sightings of Gangetic dolphins.

The park is divided into five ranges. The first four lie on the southern side of the river while the last is on the northern bank. A unique memorable way of exploring Kaziranga is on an elephant-back watching amazing wildlife in their natural habitat. Another good option available to explore Kaziranga is the jeep safari.

A beautiful heritage resort - with a challenging 18 - hole golf course - Kaziranga Golf Resort is a dream venue for every golf enthusiast. It is a first of its kind golfing venue in the world and is designed by a renowned golf course architect, Mr Ranjit Nanda.

Located in Jorhat, Assam, the course is developed on a massive 150 acre site and is complemented by a unique two-sided driving range which can accommodate up to 72 golfers at any given time. The 18-hole golf course has strategically conceived holes that challenge all skill levels.

The Kaziranga Golf Resort is mere 75 km from the world famous Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The course is dotted with colonial style cottages and a unique heritage bungalow, which now is called the Club House. The course offers facilities of fine dining, a wellness spa, indoor games and an uninterrupted view of the pristine nature makes this facility a must visit destination.

Drugs are very much a part of professional sports today, but when you think about it, golf is the only sport where the players aren't penalized for being on grass.

Golf Tip
Part I: Before You Swing
Lesson #5: Your Feet Can Fool You

One of the most common mistakes I see among my pro-am partners is over attention to the alignment of the feet. They take great pains to set their feet properly while neglecting the position of their hips and shoulders. The fact is, it's easy to look and feel square to the ball while in reality being in a markedly closed or open position.
Often, the player initially sets his hips and shoulders just as accurately as his feet, but in the process of waggling and getting comfortable over the ball, he twists his body out of the square position, usually into a more open alignment.

So don't be fooled by your feet. Ask one of your friends to take a critical look at your address position, and if you're out of alignment, tell him to turn your shoulders until you're where you ought to be.

Alternatively, take a club, set it across the front of your shoulders, and see where it points. If it's off, realign yourself until the club points parallel to the line connecting your toes. Chances are, this new alignment will feel uncomfortable, but it will be the beginning of straighter, more consistent shots.

Thank you for organizing such a wonderful trip. Weather was fantastic, the chosen courses were fabulous. Some courses were quite challenging and tight and put a real good test to my golfing skills. It was a good break and even the culture add-ons in the tour were quite insightful.
